-Is it so wrong of me to want a story with Connor and Angel, where the young, hip barista thinks it so sweet that someone as young, hot and rich as the football-shouldered pale guy in leather still takes his 70-year-old blue-eyed grandfather (he looks like Peter O'Toole. Is that wrong?) out for coffee every Tuesday?

-There's nothing weird about wanting Faith to have a passel of brats and for all of them to call their mommy's best friend, "Aunt Buffy". And for mommy and Aunt Buffy every once in a while to kiss in the laundry room, Faith sitting on the dryer with her legs around Buffy, asking, "The sheets clean, yet?" Buffy pulling away and finding the fabric softener and saying, "Yeah. You cleaned up real good." See. Not weird.

-And if Buffyverse really were to go all Round Table, wouldn't Buffy actually be the one who's King Arthur? Is it so wrong that this probably makes Spike Guinevere? Faith would be Morgan Le Fay, and Willow is obviously Merlin.

-Spike, self-portrait.

Dana drew some pictures small,
scribbled her crayon Watchers.
They beat her, drew her blood
got dripped, down a line of Slayers.
Might've been Fred who drew her
out of hell, on the wall;
Might've been Xander who knew her,
Watched her crayon/pencil it all in.
Willow who fucked her, made her
over Buffy who made her fuck,
or Angel made her Dru.
And when you looked at all those pictures,
small, you saw
she drew them all of you.

I like your poem. A lot. It's head-spinning with all its loops and puns and doubling back on itself. It took me several reads to figure it out. Monsters and victims: Spike draws a picture of the victim, and Dana draws a picture of the monster, but he is she and she is he. No matter who touches them and how, it all comes down to that one defining encounter, inescapable, that hooks itself into every experience thereafter. Feeling grim, much? Oh, Spike.

I...think you understand this poem way better than I do. Whenever I write poetry I actually understand it's very bad, imo, whereas I rather like this. So, thanks.

Dana contains multitudes.

Want. That. Now!!!!

And now I taunt you with something vaguely-similar yet totally different!!

*****

“Did you know,” Buffy says, “that before we came here, I’d never left California?”

“Yeah?” Faith agrees, blowing smoke up and out. She’s thinking about Boston, about snow and frozen pipes, about hanging out with weird kids in Harvard square, getting stoned behind dumpsters and coming home late to an empty house. She remembers hitchhiking and nasty truckers who needed a swift kick to the balls. She gave it to them.

“We should go.”

“Where?”

“Back to America.”

Buffy looks her up and down, neutral, and tucks a lock of blonde behind her ear. “Okay.”

*

“I want to fuck you with a cock,” Faith pants.

“Uh, Faith?”

“We can do whatever we want, s’long as both of us agree. Come on, sit up.” Faith watches Buffy watch her, little pink mouth half-open, as Faith slicks her fingers in her mouth, slurping saliva then squeezing all four together until her knuckles turn white. She pushes in deep, rocking Buffy up and down with her knee.

“You like that, dontcha? Give it to me, B. Do it.”

Okay, new comment now for the poem.

You are winning with that.

She's like a sponge for other people, and the line breaks kick my ass.

Oh, that is awesome. Not even a tiny bit of wrongness there, no siree, solely awesomeness. And the 70-year-old does look like Peter O'Toole.

Maybe I like to think of Connor aging well? I dunno! I just, the thought of him getting to grow old, and still being cool with Angel, makes me a puddle of goo.

I want the first one to be written, but not by me! I would make such utter sap of it; it makes me too happy.

What a nice icon. She just looks so joyous. I miss Buffy!

No, it's not wrong at all. Or is it so wrong it's right? Either way, it must be done.

Your poem is AMAZING. So incredible, wow, I'm in awe, I can't even leave coherent thoughts.

I read a story a while back that had Connor as an old man and Angel still young and delicious. I wish I could remember where, and what it is called. I do remember that I thought it was great. Sadly, my ole' memory has so many Angel fics stored in there, everything has become a jumble.

Still, I would LOVE to see you write that. Peter O'Toole and all. BTW, I thought him rather hot in Lawrence of Arabia.

Um...it was Peter O'Toole in that, wasn't it? :~))

You NEED to remember that!

O'Toole was indeed T.E. Lawrence in that movie. And very good looking.

I love your poem! I need to think about it some more.

Not wrong. Please to be writing it now, yes?

What are you doing in my head? There weren't any brats in it but I did once write a B/F and laundry ficlet: http://m-phoenix.livejournal.com/13714.html

</i>And if Buffyverse really were to go all Round Table, wouldn't Buffy actually be the one who's King Arthur?</i>

I can see that, especially after her Excaliber-ing the Scythe out of the stone.

Is it so wrong that this probably makes Spike Guinevere?

::almost chokes laughing::

Faith would be Morgan Le Fay,

OMG, yes, I want to read that.

and Willow is obviously Merlin.

Obviously.

That Angel/Connor idea makes me all sad and choked up. That's always made me sad for him, the knowledge that everyone he loves ages and dies.

The B/F is such a hot idea. Reminds me of a Nightwing/Oracle fic I read ages ago.

And that poem is amazing. I keep reading different things into it.

[info]lettered

April 9 2007, 16:27:46 UTC 5 years ago

Oh, it makes me so happy, though! Happy and sad, I guess I should say. Happy Connor could live so long and still be cool with Angel.

Nightwing/Oracle?

Ha, thanks! Yeah, poetry. I don't get it! I don't really get what I wrote! I mean, there's a lot of meaning in there, but there's no one-to-one translation or definite interpretation and that flusters me.

Oh, lord. See, this is what happens when I'm out for like four days. Poetry and Round Table thoughts. You're killing me, here. LOVE the poem, btw. Love the trippy, loopy, tangled-ness of it. How it feeds on itself. Love it.

Your Dana poem = poetry in motion. And you're one of the few people who comes up with boyslashy ideas that tickle my fancy. And of course, there can never be too much B/F, with or without kidlets.

[info]lettered

April 12 2007, 18:08:35 UTC 5 years ago

Thanks! Yeah, actually, I just don't think about Faith having kids very much ([info]femmenerd did a great story where she did though) but for some reason I just love the idea that if she did, they'd say "Aunt Buffy". I want B/F to be best friends forever! With or without sex.

mmmmpfhsfdh.... Peter O'Toole...

So who's Lancelot?

And... that's a great poem. Others have expressed why better than I could. But I like it.

I wonder when I'm going to do something with my now-old realization that girl!Spike is Charlotte Rampling?

[info]lettered

April 12 2007, 18:13:31 UTC 5 years ago

So who's Lancelot?

Angel. DUH, K, DUH!

Thanks.

The difficult part is what *do* you do with a realization like that? It's not conducive to fic. What it is conducive to, actually, is visual special effects that change Spike to Charlotte and back again. Possibly to the tune of "Venus as a Boy". I always wanted to make a VK vid to that song with lots of lesbian sex in it. If only I had any talent at that whatsoever.

Oooh. This is interesting I'd really would want to read this... so does that mean Lancelot is Angel? Oooh.

Yep, Angel as Lancelot.

I don't know! I like the idea but I don't know if it could be a fic. Thanks for being interested, though.
